Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

Sometimes, when I go to make a smoothie, they are inspired by a craving I get. Only healthiefied. Is that a word? Do you remember those orange creamy delicious “popsicles” that those who grew up in the 80s and 90s used to eat up? The flavor of those creamy, sweet, citrusy, goodness; there’s nothing like it! Except for this new smoothie I came up with. It tastes JUST LIKE those amazing creamsicles and I’m not just saying that!

Theres not much more to say about it other than it is loaded with an abundance of nutrients, antioxidants, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Don’t forget to read at the bottom of this post all of the benefits that this power-packed smoothie provides!

Orange Creamsicle Smoothie
(Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Vegan)

1 golden beet
1 whole orange including skin and rind
1 banana
1/4 cup mango
1/4 cup coconut cream
1 cup coconut milk
2 tbls collagen
3 tbls hemp seeds
5-7 ice cubes
Water to thicken or then to your desired consistency (I used about a 1.5 cups)
Blend all ingredients in your high powered blender like a Vitamix! Serve and enjoy! Makes around 4 servings.

Orange: Oranges are known for their high vitamin C content but they have so much more. They are loaded with phytonutrients which are proven to provide cancer protection and immune system support. The reason we include the white part and the skin is because THATS where most of the nutrients are. That part of the orange can be sort of bitter, so using it in a smoothie is the perfect way to get the nutrients from it without tasting the bitterness. Oranges also provide cardiovascular benefits and has cholesterol-lowering properties.

Golden beets: Beets have a unique source of phytonutrient that holds a superpower of health. They hold high antioxidant properties which reduce systemic inflammation and eating them raw keeps all of their nutrients in tact. They also are a huge supporter of detoxification, which we all need due to our toxic world.
