Cherry Float Inflammation Reducer Popsicles

Who doesn’t love popsicles? Even as an adult, the sweet, cold, and smooth frozen goodness on a stick always satisfies. When Zoku approached us and wanted us to try out their adorable products, we gladly said YES! You can find their products at all the local home stores like Bed, Bath, and Beyond, JCPenney, or on their website. These classic pop molds are under $15 and are totally worth every penny. My boys LOVED coming up with a recipe and filling them up, waiting for them to freeze, and then enjoying them! We had popsicle molds growing up and they always toppled over when we would sit them in the fridge. The design of these Zoku ones really are conducive for ease, no frills, no spills, and kid-friendly. Bonus: these are BPA and phalate free which is so important!

When coming up with a recipe, I knew I wanted something full of nutrients, refreshing and cooling, sweet and slightly creamy, and anti-inflammatory to combat those spring colds and allergies that so many suffer with. Although here in the midwest the days aren’t scorching yet, a cool treat in the afternoons thats also filling and nutritious, helps that afternoon slump be energized.

Cherry Float Inflammation Reducer Popsicles
(Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Vegan)

Ingredients
3 beets washed
1.5 cup of frozen cherries
2 cups of frozen strawberries
1/3 lemon including the seeds and rind
2 tbls hemp seeds
3 tbls collagen
3 cups coconut milk
1.5 cups water
Directions
Put all ingredients in a high powered blender like a Vitamix. Blend until fully smooth and creamy. For a smoothie, serve in mason jars or cups. For the popsicles, fill each pop mold to the fill line. Add the sticks and lids and put in the freezer for 6-8 hours. Make 6 large smoothies or 12 popsicles.

Hemp seeds: Hemp seeds offer a high quality protein source with an amino acid profile that exceeds many animal sources.  They provide a great source of omega-3’s with the added benefit of reducing inflammation in the body, stabilizing blood pressure, smoother and silkier hair and skin, boosts immune and brain function, and reduces problems associated with blood clotting. Pretty impressive little seed for being the size of an ant!

Cherries: Cherries are not only absolutely delicious, they are loaded with anti-inflammatory benefits. They have been proven to lower your risk of gout attacks, reduce pain and inflammation associated with other auto-immune issues, and even lowers your risk for a heart attack. Cherries have also been associated with lowering your depression and anxiety risk because of the amazing inflammatory reducing properties. 

Beets: Beets have a unique source of phytonutrient that holds a superpower of health. They hold high antioxidant properties which reduce systemic inflammation and eating them raw keeps all of their nutrients in tact. They also are a huge supporter of detoxification, which we all need due to our toxic world.
