A Mamas Guide: 10 Must Haves

I thought it would be fun to do a little 10 must haves for mamas. I know we all LOVE finding new and unique products and items that make another mamas life easier so I thought I’d share mine!

My mother in law gave this brand to me because it was just a tad dark for her and I ended up LOVING it. It’s a natural brand and it was the first to create a Big 3 free formula, placing an emphasis on the health and well-being of their clients. It stays on without chipping, which for a very particular mama I appreciate. It has all the latest “IT” colors and runs about $10. Pick a day of the week to be your self-care day/evening. Because if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy. And pretty fingers and toes make mamas happy. Amen?!

Magnesium deficiency is likely to effect around 90% of the entire population. And as mamas, STRESS is the largest contributing factor, along with not eating right or enough of the good stuff like I talk about here. So we can easily remedy that by using this magnesium spray. It’s like INSTANT relief for stress, sore muscles, and even stiff joints and tension headaches. I literally carry this in my purse and use at least 20 sprays throughout the day if not more. It also helps with cardiovascular function, helps to regulate diabetes, can be used in skin care, reduces anxiety and depression, and can even help sleep! YES PLEASE! You can snag it up for under $20 and it lasts a good 6 months, even if you use it like a hoarder like I do.

About 6 month ago I started doing whats called oil cleansing. Its where you put oil on your dirty, make-up face and then you steam the grime off. Then you end your skincare routine with using oil instead of a moisturizer or AS a moisturizer. It has done wonders for my skin and has totally rejuvenated it. It is less dull, reduced wrinkles, cleaner and clearer, and less noticeable pores. They are even great for other parts of your body that is prone to dryness or has skin troubles. I know it sounds counterintuitive to use oil on your face as you would think it would make it oily, but I promise, that’s just not true. These two above are my favorite. But there are so many more types of oils to try out. You can usually get a bottle for under $15 and it lasts a good few months. Just be sure to get organic, cold pressed, and pure.

What kind of favorites list would this be without some chocolate?! Hu cashew butter and vanilla bean dark chocolate is hands down my favorite chocolate I’ve ever tasted. I have a square (or two) right before I go to bed and it totally satisfies my sweet tooth. Dark chocolate is super good for women as it’s high in antioxidants and guess what? MAGNESIUM. Be sure and get organic and non gmo to get all of the nutritional benefits and make sure its dairy free. Trust me on this one. It is a little pricy at $5 a bar but mamas are worth it 😉 And with eating only a square or two a night, it lasts a week or so.

First of all, I know you aren’t supposed to use eyelash curlers but y’all, when you use it with this mascara, you are eating a healthy diet, and you are nourishing your skin and face with the oil I mentioned above, your eyelashes will look like falsies! It’s amazing what nutrition can do for your hair! This mascara is made of argan oil which is known as liquid gold because of it’s amazing benefits for hair and skin. It’s smudge free and has a 24 hour wear. So good. The mascara is about $8 and the curler is about $6.

Physicians Formula is hands down my favorite makeup brand, if you couldn’t tell. Everything about it is perfect. This nude wear touch of glow foundation does not disappoint. It gives you a luminous glow and is super airy and light. It is formulated with translucent, 100% perfecting nude glow pigments that allow skin’s natural radiance and color to shine through resulting in a beautiful bare skin effect that feels ultra-soft. It is hypoallergenic, parabon free, gluten free, non-comedogenic, fragrance free, and oil free! WAHOO! And it lasts me from 6 in the morning until 10 at night. And the best news, is you can get it for about $14!

You may thinking, “Um, excuse me?! WHAT is that?!” Ha! It’s salt! Not the processed, nasty iodized table salt. It’s pink Himalayan sea salt and its loaded with vital minerals that your body needs. This may be my best mama health hack of all time. But put it in a little container with a lid, like this one here, and carry it with you in your purse, diaper bag, at the office, wherever! What it does is when you are feeling tired, crashed, overwhelmed, stressed, or even a headache, take a little pinch and put it on your tongue and let it dissolve. This immediately gives you body a boost of vital minerals that stress and other environmental factors can deplete, and it’s like a dose of caffeine. It’s an INSTANT pick me up. Forget all the old information about salt being bad for you. Yes, table salt is bad for you. But REAL SALT is VITAL and gives your adrenals an instant boost. You can get a whole bag for about $10. I also recommend you always cook with it too. Ditch the bleached salt. NO beuno.

The argan lip oil is another Physicians Formula product and it no doubt has kept my lips super hydrated this winter and spring. It works by conditioning, hydrating, reviving and replenishing lips instantly and long-term. It is made of 100% pure argan oil and has just a hint of color. It tastes like coconut too! It’s non-sticky, and super light weight. I love putting it under this Au Naturale pigmented lipgloss. Their lipgloss is perfectly pigmented and also nourishing. It is formulated without preservatives, parabons, fragrances, additives, bismuth oxychloride, nano particles, sulfates, gluten, or animal by-products. It’s also made in Green Bay, WI USA! Both are a must for any mama. The argan oil is great for everyday, stay at home, play-date wear. And the lipgloss is great for date night, the office, or church. The lipgloss is under $20 and the argan oil lip wear is around $8 for 2! Can’t beat that.

I did a whole, long blog post on why progesterone cream is a must for most mamas. You can read about it here. But it’s literally changed my hormonal health, which in turn has made me a much better mama! Be sure and click the link to read about it. Its about $25 and lasts a good few months.

Don’t let the voodoo name of Egyptian Magic scare you off. Its made of olive oil, beeswax, honey, bee pollen, and royal jelly. It’s seriously so thick and creamy but turns into an oil when you rub it between your hands. You can use it anywhere on your skin, even your face when you need some extra hydration like in the winter months. The intensive heel repair cream is GOLD. I’ve never had a cracked heel before but this winter, we lived on concrete floors. The air was so dry, the floor was so hard, and the temperature on the floor was so cold which all led to a tiny crack in my heel. It HURT and true to my nature, I couldn’t leave it alone. I finally remembered I had gotten this foot cream for Christmas and it helped heal the dry, cracked skin! Now, I just make it a habit to put it on my feet with socks on before bed to wake up with silky, soft feet. 🙂 The Egyptian Magic is around $25 but lasts soooooo long. And the foot cream is about $10.

Oops! Theres actually 11. This is my well-loved Bible. I am allllll about Jesus and quiet time and His promises and truths and THIS BOOK is what keeps me sane. Truly. It is my life-line and I encourage any mama who is struggling today to buy one, and know what blessings and favor you can have when you make Jesus your father. Because of HIM, I am a better mama.

You may notice a few other items in the pictures that we love like La Croix, Pistachios, and Xylitol Gum. But we will leave those for another favorites post!
